Tom Dip Cafe sits quietly on Coleridge Road, serving up straightforward, hearty breakfasts and hot sandwiches that draw a steady local crowd. This café clearly thrives on consistency: soft, fresh bread and well-seasoned bacon and sausage reflect a focus on good basics rather than fussy flair. Whether you’re popping in for a quick bacon, sausage, and egg sandwich or a mushroom-filled tom dip, the food lands just right for those after a fulfilling, no-nonsense meal.

The atmosphere carries the feel of an old-school neighborhood spot—unpretentious, with friendly faces behind the counter and a clientele that ranges from morning commuters grabbing a takeaway to locals settling in for a casual breakfast. It’s the kind of place where the staff know regulars by name and conversation flows easily, making it more than just a stop for fuel.

Service here moves efficiently enough to work for a brisk coffee break or a lunch pause, without feeling rushed when you linger. Pricing leans on the reasonable side, making it an appealing option for anyone looking for solid value in a relaxed setting. Weekday mornings and early afternoons seem to be the busiest times, perfect for a quick, satisfying bite before heading to work or during a lunch break.

Visitors who appreciate a simple, dependable café experience—whether locals in search of a comforting takeaway or those who prefer sitting down for a quick breakfast—will find Tom Dip fitting well into their routines. It’s less about trend and more about familiar flavors and straightforward hospitality.

This place is a hidden gem. I always call in here for a hot sandwich when I am passing. Unlike most other cafés around, their bread is soft and fresh and the bacon and sausages are full of flavour which is just how it should be. Friendly owner too.

Cheap and cheerful breakfasts, for the price, it's good.

Proper old school cafe, used to go in years ago when i worked down the 'Cliffe. Popping in now & again nowadays, lovely takeaway sarnies today inc me french tuna & mayo. Terry's a grand old lad, very friendly, as we've found the staff & customers too. Hopefully calling in for some Saturday morning brekkies soon..
